Deck Import

Reynad might have cracked the meta with this new token Zoo deck. It takes advantage of two of the new cards, Reliquary Seeker and Dark Peddler. We expected to see a bit of Dark Peddler, the card has a decent stats and can grab strong cards from the Warlock set. Reliquary Seeker, however, we did not expect to see. The card was mostly dismissed as a bad card, but it actually finds a strong place in this deck. With cards like Echoing Ooze, Haunted Creeper, Imp Gang Boss, and Imp-losion it is actually not too difficult to fill up your board, and it turns out a 1-mana 5/5 is preeeeettty good. The other card of interest in this deck is, Gormok the Impaler. The card did not see much play in the past, but it finds a strong place in this deck where your board is consistently filled with minions. I’m curious how this deck will fare in the ever evolving meta, but we might be looking at the next Secret Paladin!

Check out the VOD of him playing it here.

Is Echoing Ooze really necessary in this deck?

Should I craft Gormok only for this deck? I think the obvious answer will be “no”?

I wouldn’t craft it. I think it’s nice to have but isn’t essential to this deck.

I actually did. Hehe. No regrets though. Reached legend with this deck (with small alterations).

..But I’m also the kind of idiot that crafted Leeroy – face is the place!

    This deck is just nuts!
    My changes are
    – 1 PO
    – 1 Seeker
    – 2 Ooze
    + 1 Brann
+ 1 Enhanco Mechano (why does no one run it? Especially nice with Brann)
    + 2 Knife Juggler

Yeah sorry for the misleading information regarding Echo and Bronzbeard guys. Echo was the only card that I hadn’t managed to play alonside Bronzebeard at that point and I guess I just assumed there would be synergy. But all the other battlecry synergies work just fine. Great deck! I just reached Rank 5 with it.

What do you guys think about Frostwolf Warlord as replacement for Sea Giant? Since this deck is designed to have a lot of stuff on the board. And he would be more flexible. You could play him for example as a 6/6 to dodge bgh

Oh, and what do you think is a good replacement for BGH?

Okay so I did some testing with a copy of Brann Bronzbeard in place of one Sea Giant and WOW! The synergies are amazing! Double value from Abusive Sergeant, Dark Peddler, Echoing Ooze, Defender of Argus and Gormok the Impaler, Loatheb and Dr. Boom. Not to mention the 1 mana 9/9 Reliquary Seekers that you just played followed by a Defender of Argus to create two 11/11 taunt minions lol. This deck was amazing without Brann, and is an absolute monster with Brann! I can definitely see a new meta deck here.

I did this same thing I actually modded this a bit and made it more flexible. I had brann also in my build but I actually teched kezan mystic and their new 3 drop aoe spell from LoE it does hit both sides but only non demons which is good for me actually considering majority of my tokens are demon and it can proc my egg or spiders while helping shift momentum back for me in the Hunter and pali match up

How did you do some testing with ooze and it had synergy?
Battle cries that doesn’t resolve immediately like ooze only trigger once?!

It worked bc of the swaps I made mostly. Brann ended up synergizing well with a third of the deck. Its true he doesnt synergize with ooze but let me say who he does synergize with. Seeker, abusive, defender of argus, kezan, loethab, boom and peddler. All of which give a substancial advantage. A double BC from abusive is a psuedo power overwhelming. Defender will give +2/+2. Kezan will take two secrets. Loethab will make spells unuseable, and boom by him self will give 5 minions towards seeker plus the mandatory brann for that scenario makes 6 right there. Peddler gives me two 1 drops which we all know why we like him in warlock. And most important seeker becomes a 9/9 for 1. It doesnt synergize with 1 minion you named but it gives huge boons with the others. Often times making the games you could lose a winning game just bc you can squeeze out alot.

I totally agree. I really think that Brann is just a staple card in this deck. So much value to be gained. The Brann Bronzebeard plus Seekers play is so good and so much fun. I played one game where I had Brann out on the board and had two Seekers in hand. I then played Peddler and got two more seekers. I then proceeded to drop four one mana 9/9’s on the board, trading in my other minions to make room lol. Brann just leads to so many crazy plays. I think he’ll just become standard for this deck once everyone catches on how good he is.

Super strong deck atm. I’matching Sjow play an iteration of it in legend on stream and he’s currently 8-4. I’d probably suggest making the same changes to it that he has: -1 Reliquary Seeker, -1 Power Overwhelming, +2 Knife Juggler. Juggler is just too good to pass up in an aggressive token deck like this. The synergy it has is crazy. Seeker is good, but a second one is a bit conditional / overkill imo. PO is also great for trading up but is often unnecessary. Juggler applies way more pressure and contributes to holding board.

Another change Sjow made was -1 Ironbeak Owl, +1 Zombie Chow. This one’s up for debate, seeing as how Owl is great for bypassing taunts for lethal (Tirion is often pretty hard for this deck to deal with for example) and neutralising some other annoying stuff (Sylvanas vs Giants and stuff) but Chow is extremely good at maintaining early board presence, which is vital to this deck winning. It has literally zero comeback mechanics!
