Deck Import

This deck is from Blizzard’s Off-Meta Spotlight #3, here’s what they had to say about it:

Lastly, we have a Hunter deck that has proven successful for several different players. Currently the fifth best deck on the ladder, this arsenal combines Secrets and early control to clear the way for some very dangerous beasts, such as Savannah Highmane, King Krush, or one of Deathstalker Rexxar’s Zombeasts.

Just got legend with this deck today, only change -1tracking -1 spellbreaker +1explosive trap+1flanking strike, dk Rexxar is so strong, won me many game on its own. From rank 5, 50w-24L and 16-10 vs priest

I’ve been running this list but with a Harrison instead of Barnes. Barnes is often extremely underwhelming in here and playing Harrison on curve after they drop skull is an amazing swing. And for all the people running explosive traps for aggro – this deck usually will lose to aggro anyway and then the traps suck against everything else. Freezing is way better all around and strong against warlock. (to bounce voidlords, etc)

How about Unleash in this deck?

Let’s talk about pros and cons of keeping rexxar. I’ve been toying with replacing him for an explosive trap because the AOE is so useful vs aggro, and ET is much faster (and hits face). It seems to be working well. I found that if you are in a situation where you need to be saved by build-a-beast, the game is most likely already over. It has saved my ass a few times, but I dont think its enough to warrant keeping him. What do you guys think?

This deck absolutely shits on mage secrets, and people play that deck all the time in lower ranks so it’s easy to climb. Im currently stuck at rank 11 though because the deck isn’t fairing to well against highlander/dragon priest and warlock decks. This deck can typically beat any warrior, shaman, hunter, or rogue deck. It just falls really flat against priest, warlock, and aggro pally(tho ive just subbed in 2 exploding secrets with snake trap and deathstalker). Deathstalker isn’t that great in this deck, ive found, because you need the burst from your initial hero power and the zombeasts you make arent as playable as the big creatures already in this deck.

Just broke through rank 11 after subbing in explosive trap. Rank 8 now and on a win streak.

This deck is super strong against warlock, probably you don’t know how to use it. And I’m talking about hig ranks

And is not a face deck, so the deathstalker is very useful in this deck, but you have to play it only when you have not other chances to win the match. 2 explosive traps are useless, if a paldin start well against you the only way for win is the spellstone,

I don´t follow, Rexxar is great here, especially against dragon priest and aggro pally

Idk if y’all noticed but this deck is “midrange hunter” slightly changed lol. It’s nothing new, been one of the better decks of the format for a little while now. But how well it does IMO is what rank bracket your in foremost. The different rank brackets see farily different “mini metas” as I call them. Examples being; rank 10-5 usually tends to be more of a mix aggro and control Decks. Ranks 20-10 tend to more aggro decks, and once you get to the 5 – legend bracket you tend to see more control based decks. My point being this deck is hit or miss depending whatever “meta” you have to deal with. So it can work extremely great but it can also get rick rolled extremely easy.

I climbed from rank 10 to rank 3 with a 75% winrate with this deck

I love this deck, is surprisingly performing, and finally, King Krush is playable! I think Kathrena will be strong next expantion, i hope they give us nice hunter secrets!

There is a pretty decent chance the deck dies when cloaked huntress rotates out.

I dont like Deathstalker Rexxar in this list, because i try to finish my opponent of with constant pressure and hero power!
I changed ice traps to explosives to deal with dudes and murlocs and Dk to flarebto battle the infinite amount of mages at rank 8-10 at eu servers. Thank you for this awesome deck, i really enjoy this expansion there are tons of interesting cards and i just craft things like astral tiger and windshear stormcaller to build cool decks and play them at R10 and R5 0 Stars.
Playing Hs since startbof open beta and this game really gets better and better with new expansions!
I just want to write this down somewhere! And thanks to Hstopdecks!

I’d like to point out that this deck is one of the few that I notice having 2 spellbreakers isnt a total waste on any situation, this due to some suprise combo you could sometimes pull silencing a barnes 1/1 king krush or violet worm. But do note that silencing krush on the turn it was summoned removes charge XD

Hi replacement for Deathstalker Rexxar, Kathrena Winterwisp, King Krush and Barnes? I dont have the dust for those cards.

If you have neither Kathrena nor King Krush you should probably not play this deck. This deck is really strong because of the Kathrena swings.

        February 17, 2018 at 5:40 pm

Well you can find a cheap replacement for the King, same for Barnes but Kathrena is essential!

LOL play a different deck then

Originally (at the beg of kobold expansion) Winterwisp was played with devilsaurs but with barnes in this deck is may not work so great im afraid.
Back to venomtrap i try it and it works better with snakes give you more options especially against aggro with divine shields…

Is there a good Kind Krush replacement? Perhaps Lich King?

    • Landryn
      February 16, 2018 at 12:26 pm

Lich King will do with Barnes but not with Winterwisp (she recruit a beast).
First time i saw this deck at Kibler stream and he add SwampKingDred so if you dont Have Krush you may try him or the Beast 9/7 is still a solid body even with Negative deathrattle efect with 2 spellbreakers in deck you can alweys silence it and move on or simply add the second violet wurm. Dont know if it’ll work i only play exact same combination as posted below.

    • Matt
      February 16, 2018 at 1:20 pm

You need 4 beasts in the deck. Dred if you have it or another violet wurm.

      February 17, 2018 at 12:53 am

If you have charged devilsaur it works in a very similar way. One less damage, but if you get it off Kat for the recruit it’s almost as good as KK

    • Axe123
      February 17, 2018 at 4:40 am

You can replace king Krush with a devilsuar. Although it isn’t as good as krush because you cant attack face with it

I swear venomstrike is simply better than snake trap just about every time.

    • Cruxkid
      February 19, 2018 at 9:38 pm

Depends. I’d rather have snake trap against aggro pali

      • Matt

        I wouldn’t

Poisonous isn’t that great against a board of divine shield 1/1 minions just saying

          • Matt
            February 20, 2018 at 3:00 pm

A 2/3 alone is as good as 3 1/1s. The poisonous is just icing and amazing icing at that. You play snakes if you have a way to buff them.
