Deck Import

This deck is from Blizzard’s Off-Meta Spotlight #7, here’s what they had to say about it:

Shudderwock made a huge splash in the opening days of The Witchwood release, but has all but disappeared from meta lists. However, some players have continued to experiment in attempts to refine and recapture the early success of this Legendary shaman minion. With assistance from Hemet, Jungle Hunter, this deck helped Lightman from the EU server “get to the good stuff” much sooner so he could show off Shudderwock’s late game closing power.

      Zola is a flex slot in the deck. She offers a backup plan incase you need to try Shudderwock before drawing Grumble, maybe gives you an extra tar creeper or doomsayer while you’re stalling out, but more realistically she copies Saronite Chain Gang so that you can get an extra duplicate battlecry to increase the odds that the loop goes off correctly.

      Cards that come to my mind are;

      -Loot Hoarder. Cycle card that isn’t a batlecry, so Shudderwock combo won’t screw you in fatigue and Hemmet will get rid of him if you haven’t drawn him yet.

      -Sandbinder. Not ideal since he is a pretty bad turn4 tempo play and isn’t shredded by Hemmet, but he grabs tar creeper or grumble directly.

      -Brrloc/Glacial Shard/Frost Shock. Freeze is a nice stall that can help make earlier boards easier to deal with. Brrloc/Glacial Shard add a Freeze battlecry to Shudderwock that makes it easier to transition into a cycle and provide a body for the early board. Frost Shock gives you a ping that can turn into a Knife Juggler snipe with Bloodmage Thalnos or the Spell Damage Totem. Also, all three of them will get shredded by Hemmet, so thats good.

      -Earth Shock. Heavily dependent on your local meta, but typically Frost Shock is better. Probably won’t need a third answer to Possessed Lackey after the nerf today but it still does well as a cheap answer to some annoying minions in the meta.

      Hopefully this helped. Best of luck, and have fun!

    This deck is really good.!
    Allways keep Hemet against annything but face decks, and it is a quick win. Against aggro decks just survive until turn 8 and the game is pretty much over.
    Thx for post

    What is the whole point of Hemet I never understood that and is there some game play of this deck, I want to see how to play with this deck?

      In theory the idea is to get the cards you need to pull off the combo faster since they all cost more than 3 Mana.

    How many games did Lightman actually win with this deck? I’m trying it out and it’s getting rolled by every aggro, face, and curve deck I’ve played against.

      Don’t know about Lightman but I got from rank 3 to legend with a similar list (- tar creeper, + BGH). Pretty sweet against even paladin as well as cubelock. The point against aggro is trying to stall the game with Doomsayer, AoE, taunts until hagatha. If you survived until turn 8, you pretty much won the game.
