Climbed from 20 to 7 with only 3 losses using this modified version (hoping to get to legend by end of season):

    2x fiery bat
    1x cat trick
    1x explosive trap
    2x freezing trap
    2x kindly grandmother
    2x loot hoarder
    2x quickshot
    2x snipe
    2x animal companion
    2x cloaked huntress
    1x deadly shot
    2x eaglehorn bow
    2x kill command
    1x unleash the hounds
    1x barnes
    1x infested wolf
    2x savannah highmane
    2x call of the wild

I tried secret keeper and she was either drawn late game or killed on turn 2, so i swapped her for loot hoarder. Dont like the snake trap. One cat trick due to zoo and aggro. curator was too slow as is ragnaros.

Try this out and lmk what u think. Open to any and all criticism.

READ THIS! MY POINT OF VIEW (I am a legend-status player)

This deck is awesome. I love how secrets are now highly incorporated into the new Hunter meta. I also like the synergy this deck provides all around– i.e. early game secret keepers + secrets for buffs, and if the secret keepers survive, a turn 3 drop Cloaked Huntress with a potential of two or three free secrets. This ever more intertwines the various synergies between the cards in this deck, and I like the concept.

HOWEVER, AS A LEGEND PLAYER I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND USING THIS EXACT DECK. and here is why:
    1. There are TOO MANY secrets. 9 cards out of thirty are secrets.. meaning nearly a third of this entire deck is made of secrets. AND, secrets, being conditional/reactive in nature, do not contribute well to a proactive hunter meta. As a hunter you MUST have board control from early on. And KEEP IT.

    2. Also, In my opinion, avian watcher is a waste of a card in this deck. And here is why: many of these secrets are VERY reactive and will activate during your opponent’s turn DIRECTLY after you apply them. These include snipe and cat trick (primarily). These may help you with maintaining board control, but, as I will explain later, FREEZE trap is the main board control in my opinion.

    3. Finally, my biggest problem with this deck is it’s “all-in” mentality on the secret keepers for buffs. And, to be honest, if you’re playing anyone that is good at hearthstone, they will pick this deck apart piece by peace. AND THIS IS WHY: a) simply put, secret keepers get murked ASAP by every single opponent I’ve played because they understand that it can get very powerful for a one-drop. ALSO, playing secret keeper is like broadcasting to your opponent that this is your deck that you’re using. Good ones will work around it. AND DO NOT FORGET THIS!!!! Secrets are a two cost. THATS A LOT OF DAMNED wastes of turns playing secrets, if, for some reason, you cannot draw cloaked huntress. And, as I’ve explained before, this deck has an intricate web of synergies, but if one part of the web does not work, it’ll collapse all together (for example not being able to buff secret keepers to be tough enough to withstand early game board-clearing spells. An example of this: secret keeper turn 1, only 1 secret in hand, and no cloaked huntress. At that point, you’re destroyed.

    MY RECOMMENDATION:
Keep snipe if you want, but reduce it to one.
GET TWO SNAKE TRAPS THEY HAVE THE GREATEST SYNERGY WITH CALL OF THE WILD AND ANIMAL COMPANION.
Also, no explosive traps. They’re too weak in 75% of the meta matches you will play.
    KEEP THE TWO FREEZING TRAPS.
and finally, I would only take 1 bear trap and 1 cat trick.

If you build your deck with these guidelines, you suddenly have 5 new slots available for this deck. And you know what it’s missing? BEASTS SINCE IT HAS TWO HOUNDMASTERS!!!! So stupid. So I’d recommend either taking out one houndmaster, and putting a dire wolf in its place. That being said, with the 5 empty spots, I would put in another dire wolf (to add a more midrange and to amplify a consistent board control no matter what stage of the match you are in), and I’d Put in TWO elephants. and with the remaining slots, I’d put in 1 firebat and at least 1 huge toad. This will help put more monsters on the deck so that you can be more proactive about board control– your opponent will have to react to you, not the other way around. If you have any questions or need advice, dm me. I

Definitely removing houndmaster. Yes it has targets but not enough. Often a dead card.

There are so many things that can go wrong with this deck. You need secret synergy to make bow, secret keeper, avian watcher work. But you dont always get the perfect hand like that. You need beasts to make houndmaster and kill command work but that doesnt always happen. You need to not draw your rag and highmane for your barnes to be good, and houndmasters make your barnes worse. I literally got every horrible scenario happen to me with this deck. Extremely inconsistent.

Any replacement for snake trap maybe bear trap or unleash the hound would work, what do you guys think

Great deck. played 16 games went 11-5 (68.75% wr). Switched explosive trap with unleash the hounds. reason was because i rearly had a use for it and way to slow, like, if you have to used explosive trap defenively, you’ve probably lost due to bad tempo.

Also switched avian watcher with leeroy jenkins, because it felt really slow and hard to get vaule with the battle cry and way too much prep for it to work. very rarely do i find that my secerts actually manage to stay on the board for me to play anivan. i always see better plays then play anvian. With leeroy + hero power you can do a quick burst of 8 damage as a finisher if needed

I removed one Explosive trap and added Unleash the Hounds. This deck is amazing.

Any mulligan tips? I find that this deck plays really weird for me. Also, If i didn’t have the 2 call of the wilds or ragnaros, could i replace them with another Kill command and two infest wolfs??

Also, what is the general strategy of the deck? How should I generally be playing?

Like playing Face Hunter Make sure you mulligan pretty much anything over a 3 drop. Use your bow to clear a path for your dudes.

There is no replacement for Call of the Wilds for this list. Without that card, you’ll run out of steam in most games running a list with so many traps.

Sylvanas or Cairne, something good for Barnes to pull.

This version is better then ThijsNL, sometimes i get the feeling that he rush fixxes decks just to show on stream without proper testing. Lifecoach seems to overthink it a bit more imo. If u hate warriors play this totale rampage ! 😀

I love this deck, currently at rank 6 on winning streak, went from rank 13 with 71% Win Rate (24-10).
I added a yogg saron instead of Barnes and two bear traps instead of kindly grandmother, it’s working well for me like this.
Most of the games i end up not playing yogg but it has saved me a few times.
