Greetings to everyone!

I present to you a heavy control type of deck, that focuses on wearing out your opponents health and efforts while finishing him/her off with spells like Mind Blast and/or Holy Fire, with the help of Prophet Velen or Malygos.

Emperor Thaurissan is not available on Standard mode anymore to do all those crazy combos that were done before, so that’s why Burgly Bully appears in this deck, aside from being a great minion for contesting board. When you are the 2nd player, you already have a coin (try to save it for later always), meaning you can Velen+2x Mind Blasts or Malygos+1xMind Blast, but when you are 1st player, you need at least 1 coin to be able to do that combo and do at least 20 damage in a single turn.

Originally I had only Velen in the deck, but it seems to be working better with Malygos included, since that way there is more than 1 option in the deck to be able to do high damage in 1 turn. And if by any chance you can use both at the same time, well… your screen is going to explode with fireworks ^^.

But this deck is not only about removals and leaving the board clear at all times to set up for big damage. This deck has minions that can contest the board pretty fairly and help you gain that needed time. These minions are Priest of the Feast, Burgly Bully and Cabal Shadow Priest.

Shadow Visions gives you a lot of flexibility when playing this deck. When you use it you find yourself with answers to almost every situation you can be facing at a given moment. If you need lethal get a Mind Blast or Holy Fire, if you need removal go for Shadow Word: Death, if you need AOE go for either Shadow Word: Horror, Holy Nova or Dragonfire Potion.

Never keep Mind Blast in opening hand. If you are going against aggro or midrange it’s gonna be worth nothing sitting there, and if you are facing Control you may wanna Shadow Visions a 3rd one, so taking 1 from your deck lowers that chance of happening.

I want to point the importance of Pint-Size Potion in this deck. This card lets you do some crazy plays when played together with Shadow Word: Horror or with Cabal Shadow Priest. If you have 1 Pint-Size Potion in your hand, you can wipe an entire board of enemy minions with up to 5 attack, or steal 1 minion of that characteristic. If you find yourself having 2 Pint-Size Potion in your hand, you can wipe an entire board of enemy minions with up to 8 attack, or steal 1 minion of that characteristic. And remember you can Shadow Visions for an extra one if needed.

When you are about to use removal on an enemy minion, think first if you absolutely need to kill it this turn, and what are the consequences of leaving it alive, because you have to try and use your removals as efficiently as you can.

This deck has situational cards that answer some of the popular threats that exist in Hearthstone these days. And I will list these answers below:

– Eater of Secrets: There is a very high % of the population playing either Secret Mage or Burn Mage, and this card is here to ruin those decks fun. You can also use it against Paladins using Hydrologists, or against Hunters using secrets these days.

– Harrison Jones: Aside from Warriors, Paladins, Rogues and Shamans, we can use this card against the Mages and Priests that use Medivh, giving us a huge card draw.

– Mass Dispel: Can help you against Paladins buffs, and also against heavy taunt decks such as warrior, where maybe you need a little more push of damage with your own minions to set up lethal. Plus it draws you a card.

At the moment, I have 53% win rate starting at Rank 5 with 50 games played, which is not bad, and I am open to suggestions. Would love for you guys to try it out and let me know your thoughts.

Have a good one!

Lesh.

I honestly don’t understand how are you losing that many games against aggro decks when you have so much removal. There is always a few games you lose against them of course because no deck has 100% winrate against anything, but I’m winning the majority against them.

Been running a similar burn priest with Alextraza, one of my big problems is armour gain. Jade Druid with 2xEarthen Scales or any control warrior with huge armour gain is quite problematic.

How’s do you deal with these? The Mass Dispel may help a bunch against the warrior versions that rely on minions that generate the armour, might try that.

Jade Druid is definitely a problem. I think it’s the worst matchup for this deck. When I face those what I try to do is starting turn 4 get minions on the board and put pressure, while going for good trades. Do not ever let Jade Druid do the trades. Remember Druid doesn’t have good removals.
I honestly haven’t had problems with warriors, although I haven’t faced pure control warriors, only quest and pirate ones. Try the mass dispel for those you mention, or do the Pint-Size Potion+Shadow Word: Horror combo.

      Hope this helps!

I’ll try your Alexstrasza instead of Malygos and see how it goes, sounds good.

Also I’ve been trying Yogg instead of Malygos, and he’s been helping me in games like going against Jade Druids, or games where I am losing badly, and he’s turned the tables most of the times.
