How do you deal with a deck with a lot of taunt minions

I’ve been playing this with a couple of changes that work well:

-2 lance carrier, +2 dire wolf (better on an empty board, better synergy with mark of y’shaarj and patches)

-1 mark of the wild, +1 cult master (cult master is awesome in this deck! found myself with empty hand too often)

Any replacement for sir finley considering the upcoming standard rotation?

This deck is stupidly good… Was messing around with a Kun’Thun deck and ended up on 15 0 star… Got back to 11 2 star without a single loss with this deck! What’s that like 10-0? Key is to not get get the 4 mana cards in the opening hand, can really hurt. Dragon Egg is such a good turn 1 play. If not then a Squire.

This deck is really nice but I find the beast count a bit too low to run mark of y’shaarj (2 or 4 with the spell), wouldn’t it be better to switch for something else ?

I’ve had nice results with the “choose one : 3/2 stealth or 2/1 charge” Druid.
You loose the (very) conditional card draw but it still gives you the possibility of dealing 2 additional damage if needed, it makes a nice combo with savage roar, and you can play it as a 3/2 stealth if needed (the turn before a board-wide buff for exemple).

I’ve been thinking about trying loothoarder like suggested in another post but then you loose the ability to deal 2 instantly if needed.

Anyone else tried switching it ? For what ?

Mark of Y’Shaarj is in the deck as an activator for your eggs. If you can maybe get a draw off it once in a blue moon, then that’s just icing on the cake.

cut bloodsail corsair aswell, and put in 2 Mounted raptor, and a Argent horserider,
bloodsail corsair is only good because it is a close to a 2/3 for 1 mana the first time.
      Darnasus asperant could also work.
pick a combination between Darnasus asperant, Argent horserider and Mounted raptor. you will lose a bit of go wide, but win on stickiness.

Guys Pls could y help me?
I’m new for hstone, but I like it, i have made thi deck except for Patches THe Pirate.
I try in ranked, but I win one and lose 2….. Coauld Y tell me how to use this deck pls?

If you don’t have have patches you can drop bloodsail also for something else

    • Shlagitoman
      February 8, 2017 at 3:54 am

As Cruxkid said, if you don’t have Patches, there’s no need to keep the Bloosail Corsairs. I’d probably play Druid of the Saber x2 to replace them, and then probably another 1 drop to replace Patches (Worgen Infiltrator seems like an OK choice, maybe Abusive Sergeant). In fact, since having 1 drops is so crucial to this deck, replacing the pirate package with two Worgens and one Saber/Abusive seems like it could be solid.

as for how to play the deck, its a very hard deck if you don’t get a nut draw. personaly i would recommend to start whit zoo and then go back to this deck.
Zoo is a lot easier for new players, as there is fewer moments you have predict what your opponent will do, and therefor plan a few turns ahead. Whit Zoo you can just react to the current boardstate.

But if you want to stick to this deck, the thing that you probably have to save buffs more. it is not always correct to do whats best for the turn and instead save payoff cards for a turn you can get more value from it. try to predict what your opponent will do the next turn.
For exempel if you have a big board and you get to a turn 6 vs priest try to not over extend so you get punished vs dragonfire potion, instead use soul of the forest to punish a dragonfire potion. and if they don’t have it then you still got a big board.
if you are against a mage and it is turn 8 you have a big board you can probabely go wide because if they diden’t use flamestrike they probabely don’t have it.
in the later turns (5+) it is more importen to play around whats bad for you instead of being effektive on mana. Muligans are also importent. don’t keep cards because they are good, keep them because it gives you a plan on what to do the first turns. mull aggressive for a egg and a buff.never keep 2 eggs/buffs, just keep 1 of each and hope for support card.

Took me from rank 3500 legend to rank 750 legend. Getting past that point has proven fairly difficult, but I have maintained 1000-750 legend rank for like 50 games so that is pretty solid for a deck as non-meta and entertaining as this one! Thanks again J4ckie for the innovative deck

This deck is lit as fuck. Nice work.

I agree that if your opponents clear with a board clear then that’s tough luck, but the same could be said with a lot of aggro decks.

I like the egg tech, but I was wondering if there is space for loot hoarder? I like how fast the draws are though early game, extremely powerful deck if you get something ridiculous like coin double living roots into mark of the wild, then savage roar turn 3 the game is basically finished lmao you do 22 total face damage at turn 3 which is insane.

    • Argenmendon
      February 14, 2017 at 6:41 am

egg druid is not a deck you want to use all your mana asap, its a deck that looks for big turns.
cold light oracle is beter if you want card draw, lets you be more explosive, and you can use the cards drawn beter then any deck

So i don’t have patches, but i love this deck. I’m considering using the pantry spiders instead of the druid of the sabres. Or should i rather replace the mounted raptors?

    • Argenmendon

      raptors

      btw cut bloodsaid crousair aswell

Wonderful deck vs agro pirate warrior and agro shaman but I struggle vs control still I manage to win. However vs priest or renolock can’t play around removals just hope for soul of forest and waste savage roar on big taunts. Against Jade druids if it’s only Jade Behemoths and Swipe I can deal with it but if they play an Ancient of War it’s over.

Wow! I thought this was another lame deck, but I tried it and I have since gone 6-1. AOE isn’t a problem when you have Soul of the Forrest to back you up! This deck has great burst potential. Give it a try!

What can I replace sir Finley with?

    • Argenmendon

violet teacher, sir finley is a slow value card vs control mostly, teacher is as well os probably the best replace

Fun Deck, played it for several hours and “can” be nice, specially against Pirate Warrior.

But you will have no, absolut no chance against Aggro-shaman or any other AOE-Class.

I don’t have Dragon Egg, could i replace for:
1x Dirty Rat (for protect the other minions), 1x Naturalize (to remove taunt / endgame)
    or maybe 2x Bilefin TideHunter?
I think Dire Wolf Alpha is a good option too.

This deck is awful it has no draw and is no match for aoe or other minion decks

    • Evident - Author
      December 14, 2016 at 7:15 pm

Have you even played it? J4CKIE went from Rank 3 to Legend with this deck, which makes it better than awful. Not every deck is going to break the meta.

    • TheLawnNinja
      December 15, 2016 at 6:54 am

Actually, it excels against AoE and other minion decks with all its sticky minions and buffs. Reno control decks can be tough if the game drags on, but it’s not uncommon for this build to get some very explosive draws, especially with Patches in the list.

    • Ironstove
      December 25, 2016 at 5:51 am

You’re wrong lol, you draw with runic egg, mark of yshaarj and finley if you are fortunate enough to get the warlock power. This is a deck that should win by turn 5-7 anyway, so being able to draw 1-2 cards is really all you need to ramp.

  21. RebelCobra5
    December 13, 2016 at 6:57 pm

Considering I don’t have Patches, should I use Oozes instead of Corsairs and maybe a druid of the saber instead of Patches? Or do you think the Patches combo is necessary?

    • Aspirinman
      December 14, 2016 at 3:25 pm

He was running a version earlier in the expansion with mounted raptors, druid of the sabers and a lance carrier. He also said on stream to use raptors and druid of the sabers as replacements for pirates if you don’t have patches.

Why finley? What do you try to get mage? So you can hit your eggs?

    • Divulsi
      December 13, 2016 at 4:50 pm

Warlock hero power best. Second is either hunter for final damage, or totem if you have lots of buffs but a small board

    • Xacher
      December 14, 2016 at 7:58 am

Depends on the stage of the game/situation/matchup, unlike all the other classes Shaman is amazing and Paladin is good as well, Warlock is always good as well, Hunter is generally good in racing matchups.

I’d say Warlock>Shaman>Paladin>Hunter>Mage>Rogue>Priest>Warrior against reno decks as a general guideline, needless to say warlock is bad if you’re against fast decks

lacks a finishing blow card, when your opponent regains the board but he is low on hp, you got nothing to finish him off.

Arcane anomaly is what I use since you use alot of spell and if they let him live he gets big with all the buffs

  25. ralph
    December 5, 2016 at 5:09 am

how do you use this deck?

    • Bernie
      December 5, 2016 at 2:13 pm

If it’s like his previous egg druid deck, you establish a board presence in the early game, and do everything in your power to maintain it. In the mid-game you use buffs to snowball your presence into massive damage, and finally you finish with Savage Roar. The one way you lose this is for your opponent to successfully clear your board. That’s hard for them to do because your eggs are sticky, and your soul of the forest makes your other minions just as sticky. The Living Roots/Power of the Wild combo is strong, but don’t be shy about using two damage from the Living Roots to protect your board presence instead. The key to winning with egg druid is to get on the board and stay there.
