Deck Import

The Shadowform Priest has floated around in various forms for a while now. It hasn’t been super successful, but this version of the deck shows a bit of promise. One of the problems is that you tend to get behind early and can’t get back in the game, but with a card like Reno Jackson, it will be much easier to mount a comeback at full health. Kibler had a pretty good run with this deck, taking out Midrange Druid and a Secret Paladin (and others), you can watch the VOD here.

Update: -1 Shrinkmeister, -1 Velen's Chosen, -1 Maiden of the Lake, +1 Dark Cultist, +1 Shadow Madness, +1 Elise Starseeker

Why is their a Reno in the deck but you use 2 shadowforms?

Because you’re looking to draw one of those which allows Reno to activate.

        alright thank you!

Mind taking a look at my decks that I just added and seeing what needs work?

I only see one Dragon Paladin deck, it looks good. I’m surprised you only have one Twilight Guardian in it though.

This looks a very fun deck, but i dont have Paletress, and i can’t afford her… are there any good replacements, even though she has such a unique effect?

running this deck at the lower ranks and its insane, over 10 wins in a row.

my tip for most people trying this deck is, do note waste your removals! remember that you have a TON of healing (medic/garrison/reno/healbot). you can afford to take even 10 damage for one extra turn if you can clear off even more minions next turn with the same removal.

I’ve been running this updated version for about 5 games and haven’t lost. It’s weird but it works really well.
There is a good balance between minions and spells that hold the board early on, healing and aoe, and late game cards that steel your opponents stuff.

Also, I don’t have Vol’jin so I subbed in Prophet Velen. It works very well as Velen is a huge target and usually trades with at least 1 big threat.

You are playing at what rank? Because with this deck I’m having lots of trouble.

I’m having trouble too. Only at rank 15!

Same here. I think that this deck depends a lot of how the game run. It’s not very consistent. I always thought this of Reno decks.

Only rank 13. It struggles vs shaman the most but it destroys control warrior, and any deck that runs Elise starseeker.

Can i replace lightbomb by deathword horror or mass dissip?

I might try Dr. Boom or Velen’s Chosen. I wouldn’t use Mass Dispel.

Preety sure he meant for standard, what cards you could use when gvg and nax leaves

Not really, I even considered running two lightbombs (although I didnt do it at the end).

Its probable the best removal option for priest and is crucial in almost every matchup.

The only card I am missing in this deck list is Vol’Jin. I simply put Elise Starseeker in to add a very strong late game play. It has worked so far and would recommend it for most people who are only missing one card as well.

Hello friends. What are some decent replacements for confessor paletress, vol’jin and sylvannas windrunner?

Big Game Hunter for Vol’jin, Loatheb for Sylvanas, and maybe Dr. Boom for Confessor.

I went with this recommendation and used BGH for Vol’Jin and Dr. Boom for Confessor. Looks pretty good to me.

Omg its a bit sad there is no synergy with both shadowforms and justicar trueheart. Would be extremely nice to do 6 dmg for just 2 mana ?

    • Conner D
      March 21, 2016 at 10:15 pm

Justicar doesnt work that way. It upgrades your Starting Hero Power. This prevents using justicar on a ragnaros hero as well.

Suggestions as to what I should use to replace Sylvanas? I have everything else listed, so…

Been running a Shadow Reno list for a couple weeks now. my list is a bit different though because some of the cards in this list a bit slower. i run a little more aggro hate. my list runs Doomsayer, explosive sheep, Mind Control Tech, Shadow Madness, Refreshment Vendor, Harrison Jones, and Holy Fire over Shield, Velens, Kodo, Shrink, and Maiden, Medic, Voljin. I feel like alot of those cards don’t do enough on their own, I like shrink and Voljin but all the others require more put into them. where as the cards i chose have an immediate effect on the board.

Having Reno, you wouldn’t be able to have 2 Shadowforms to get his benefit. Surprised no one else mentioned it.

You just have to draw one Shadowform and you’ll be able to use Reno.

    • Mr Bump
      March 10, 2016 at 8:02 pm

People often get confused with this. Reno doesn’t require you to only have 1 of any card in your deck – he just requires you to only have one of any kind of card in your deck *when you play him*. As long as you have at least one Shadowform in your hand (you don’t even have to have played it) when you play him, he will work.

This deck looks nice! A pity I don’t have second Shadowform and Garrison Commander! Any idea for replacement? Thank you 🙂

An Acidic Swamp Ooze and maybe a Piloted Shredder. There’s lots of options when talking about Reno decks.

This is a great deck, but Kibler didn’t come up with it – I saw a very similar version with only a few changes running around a couple of months ago. It’s not super competitive, unless you’re a really good player, but it’s damn fun.

Yep, I can confirm this, saw this on reddit I few days ago – can’t find it again though. It was in a comment to post about what deck people hoped would be viable in standard, and some guy responded to someone who wanted Shadow Priest, that he had played Shadow Priest to top 100 in S22.
