Small time in to argent lance is what you want every game. After that it's all gravy!

After playing Muzzy’s pirate rogue with shadowstepped charge minions and thinking about how ben brode said charge is a strong mechanic and the recent interviews talked about the small-time buccaneer meta not changing, I thought I’d type in a few words in to the search box of my collection…

PIRATE, CHARGE and WEAPON yielded this deck. Here’s an explanation of the core cards and mechanics:

PIRATES:

Patches the Pirate Small-Time Buccaneer: these two are self explanatory

Southsea Deckhand: this card is an option as a first turn drop, but really is most valuable later in the game when combined with a weapon and some targeted stat pumps (Blessing of Might and [card_link_name=”Blessing of Kings”])

Southsea Captain: is a good stat booster against control, and helps against maelstrom portal

Captain Greenskin: He can add the extra push when played at the right time Ideally on a Truesilver Champion

Skycap'n Kragg: As the deck runs a ton of charge, even paying 7 for this guy is great, but can often be played for 5 or 6. Although his mana to effect is not phenomenal, the ability to charge for another 4 in this deck is solid. Why not just another argent commander? i like the high risk to high reward, the potential for him to come out at 5 mana is worth it.(IMHO)

CHARGE

Having a lot of charge minions allows you to abuse buffs and make sure they get at least one turn. Overall, the cards don’t need explaining, play them and go face….

Patches the Pirate Southsea Deckhand Argent Horserider Leeroy Jenkins Argent Commander Skycap'n Kragg

WEAPONS

Argent Lance: this is what makes this deck viable. winning the joust is only gravy as having a turn 2 weapon to activate your S.T.B. is key. it also helps you battle it out against the other pirate decks and fight for board control

Rallying Blade: A single copy for weapon consistency and a bit of synergy with Argent Horserider

Truesilver Champion: great for board or face and is a great target for a Captain Greenskin pump.

Tirion Fordring : I’m considering him a weapon as he gets removed almost instantly in all cases, and if he doesn’t, then you’ve probably already won.

PUMPS

Blessing of Might: great for face on a charge minion. use for trades early on if desperate

Blessing of Wisdom because of all of the charge minions, this guarantees a draw and also says deal with me now. great to target Argent Horserider

Divine Strength: tech card at the moment as I’m facing a lot of shaman and rogue. It helps fight for early board and makes your opponent waste removal

Blessing of Kings: great target on small cost chargers like Southsea Deckhand and Argent Horserider

Argent Protector: I’ll include him as a pump for the moment. He is also a tech choice for battling for early board…could be switched to a bloodsail raider for more pirate and weapon synergy.

Divine Favor: pumping your hand is never a bad thing. Might switch one out for a second rallying blade, but too many weapons can lead to unplayable hands.

Just out of curiosity, what rank did you get the 11 streak on?

      Started at rank 9.

I play mostly casually (don’t have time to do the grind to legend). Also, I get the most enjoyment out of deckbuilding something that is unique but still competitive. I know this is not top tier and cannot compete in legend ranks, but it’s a nice change of pace while laddering.

Looks like a decent deck and seems like it’d be fun to play, unfortunately due to the large amount of legendary and epic minions and how useless they are with most other deck builds I personally don’t see this deck getting much play on the ladder.

Definately true… much to expensive to play for a f2p, especially when the best decks in the meta are quite cheap on dust.

However, 3 of the 5 legendaries are must owns. (Tirion, Leeroy and Patches) and you can replace Kragg with a second argent commander. Captain greenskin is the only one that doesn’t have an effect that is replaceable. The only similar effect at that card cost is spiteful smith… another option to replace it with is stranglethorn tiger due to the large amount of pump in the deck.

      Hope this helps!
