All I can see is a highlight of this managing to avoid killing a frothing berserker on a 16 health board. “That was a mistake”

While it is a great card in many regards, that requires skill to use efficiently, I’m unsure whether Shaman ever wants to have an empty board. Despite that, I think it’s a better replacement for elemental overload, expect against really overcrowded boards (in that case, concede might be a better option anyways).

Uhh, I don’t think any class wants to have an empty board.. 90% sure this will be a cancer card

Very good card. It’s a fail safe. If you are losing board, you can trade your current minions in and use this for a whopping 15 damage to enemy minions (which in most cases, will clear the board). If you’re winning board, there’s no reason to use it because well you’re winning

Warlock has a similar card (3 mana and 9 damage) and nobody plays it.

this is a completely different card. say ur opponent has a 7/7 and 8/8 or a full board of 2 health minions, this card will wipe their board completely. this a very good control card, if you know how to use it. you will only use it when u are behind, of course. trade in ur minions and play this for maximum effectiveness, then use ur leftover mana to make a swing. minions only makes all the difference.

But that hits face. Plus it’s on a much smaller scale

This card is just gonna piss me off, more rng to this already low skill cap game.

ironically, only low skill players would think this is a rng card. if you know how to use it, the rngesus is almost nonexistence

I like how people complain about this game having a low skill cap. That’s what the game is meant to be. You’re supposed to be able to try out weird fun things and still have a chance of winning. If you want a competitive card game we already have magic the gathering, so don’t be so stuck up on how it has a “low skill cap,” and go play some magic.

What about comboing it with Acolyte of Pain? Pretty efficient Clear&Draw, don’t you think? Looking forward to trying it with all minions somehow benefiting from taking dmg.

Huh. Cool combo. Some control shamans are already considering running acolyte.

nerf it before it comes out make its overload 5 doesnt shaman already have enough aoe spells and its rare at least make it epic it is basically 5 mana c’thun
and youcan use it at 10th turn with patron

no elemental destruction is going away. that left shaman with maelstrom portal and lightning storm, both of which are only good against small minions.

Patron is from the Blackrock mountain expansion. It’s getting taken out. This doesn’t require nerf at all. Most of the time as shaman you don’t benefit from damaging your minions. Acolyte of pain is probably one of the few that does.

More rng, wonderful….Things like this that makes the competitive stage a joke, and makes good players like Lifecoach to leave.

The RNG for this is nowhere near as impactful as the 2-3 of lightning storm or the 4-5 of Elemental Destruction.
You know for sure that if the total health of all minions is less than 16, then the board will be wiped.
I think it’s quite an awesome, intuitive and well-designed card. Whether it will be played competatively, though, we’ll have to see.

I don’t agree with you. Yes, it has the RNG factor, but you can pilot these 15 damage because this card hits only the minions. Think about Spreading Madness: that card is a good example of stupid RNG. Actually, I like this card. It is kind of a board clear if you don’t have any minion. Pretty good.

It is less RNG that you think. It’s better than just high rolling a storm and makes spell totem less frustrating. Strong enough to kill most boards. And not to late to play in time. It’s a card that is fine and doesn’t push shaman even better. Not every card has to be competetive.
You can decrease it’s RNG through your plays.

its not as RNG as others if on board is less than 15 HP it will clear it and if u have no minions on board it will hit only enemy minions i think its much better than pepole ancitipate for it look at that if enemy plays deathwing u can kill him with that card and still play somethinmg along it

If there are minions with 15hp total, you are guaranteed 100% to kill all of them, so RNG element of this card is ok, because you can play it and take no risks or at least you can calculate your odds pretty well. This card design is much better then Elemental Destruction where you might end being just 50-50
Also, when there is just one or two big minions on board – like 7/7 and 8/8, this card kills them 100% so I think it is much better then 3.5 points. I think it will be strong in Jade Shaman, you trade you Jades, then Volcano rest of your opponents board and same turn play some more Jade. Or you can stop early aggresion turn 5 and turn 6 you have 4 mana to play Jade lightning or Jinju Waterspeaker or WooHoo.

I didn’t want to craft Elemental Destruction because it was rotating out. From the looks of this, I will finally be able to play Control Shaman without Elemental Destruction. Hopefully this card isn’t another OP card for Shaman. I can see some Midrange Jade Shaman decks running a copy of this.

      February 27, 2017 at 1:12 pm

It’s damage to ALL minions. Sure, it would be good if you had an empty board, but otherwise it would likely take out most of your own minions, as well.

its a powerfull and very versatile board clear for shaman imho. you trade your minions before casting and finish opponents minions with this one. it can take out 2-3 bigger minions or lots of smaller ones

… If your opponent has a big minion you can use Hex, so you don’t have to loose your own boar, if your has many small minion you use Lightning Storm so you don’t have to loose your own minion.

So far their is no Combo card or archetype available for shaman (at least in Standard) so you can’t expect win a game if you don’t compete for the board. I think in “standard Un’goro”, volcano will be a useless card.
