Interesting card! Like Ramshield, the effect is comparable to having Taunt, but it only protects minions and not your face. 5 mana 3/8 with taunt seems alright- it’s about what you’d expect from an ok Witchwood Grizzly drop, for instance. Granted, Grizzly is still not terribly popular without revive or recruit psynergy.

It’s not that simple of course, because the effect is so much different than just having taunt! And in certain cases, so much better.
    – Drop it next to middleweight minions, or minions with good aura effects, and tada! They’ll be immune to AoE.
    – If Overkill becomes popular, this card can tech against it- it will protect your weaker minions from being preyed upon by your opponent.
    – More situational, but this can also help out your own Overkill cards, or minions with something like Poison. It basically gives them Immune for an extra attack or 2, allowing them to get in more hits and therefore activate their effects more.

I think it’s worth experimenting with, and if Overkill becomes pervasive this will be a very viable answer to it.

Technically this could be a pretty scary minion to slap down next to a Hench clan thug or fledgling in odd rogue… might actually be better than something like cobalt scalebane or crazed alchemist if you think about how tricky it could be to remove this first to get rid of a HC thug…

I think if Fungalmancer can be a staple, this could see play. Set this down to a couple minions who can make trades and you are still left with a 3-3 or something.

dose anyone know how this card will work with aoe spells like flame strike?

My guess is that it takes all of the damage simultaneously and then dies with the two adjacent minions unscathed.

second question sorry because of how this is written what happens when you attack with that adjacent minion also how would poisons work with this?

if its programmed properly the poisonous damage will transfer to this and itll die and since no damage was dealt to the adjacent target itll be left alive

2 things I’m interested in 1 give this divine shield would that neutralize the dmg.

And 2 the biggest why has nobody mentioned using this with overkill minions. Stops minion from taking dmg so the overkill would still have full health.

      1. Yes, they first damage to this or adjacent minions would be nullified and will pop the shield.

      2. That’s a good point. This card is incredibly versatile. It’s relatively low cost means it could be seen in any deck. I don’t think this is too expensive even for an aggro deck, to severely limit aoe effects.

Makes aoe difficult to remove certain targets removal becomes complicated. This will see play

This + any Taunt minion is going to be meta defining because it will allow people to make incredibly sticky boards, so we’ll have to run removal and/or silence effects to get rid of it.

what if there are two of these side by side as the only cards on board?
the damage can’t go anywhere since damaging one of them means that the conditions on the other one isn’t satisfied

Order of Operations, the first one played has its effect trigger first. Much like mechathun priest the first played card would resolve the effect entirely before the second played card kicked into effect.
