I can’t believe I actually managed to pull it off – vs a Druid.

Lots of tit for tat minion fights for board control and I’ve got a Cult Master and a Giant Sand Worm on the board, the Druid has a buffed 2/6 Violet Teacher. He casts a few spells including a Mark of Y’Saarj and Soul of the Forest to give him 4 apprentices all with deathrattle summon a 2/2 Treant – but all with summoning sickness.

… and I have Bestial Wrath in my hand.

    😀

can you attack with it indefinitely? That makes a difference. Another big problem that jumps out at me is that it’s a hunter card and it does no face damage. If it was neutral i’d give it 3 stars but hunter? 2 is generous.

These large cards are going to be very hard to evaluate until we see what happens to Big Game Hunter. As it stands, it sees like it’s fun but too slow. If Big Game Hunter is nerfed enough that it isn’t really that common and become the niche tech card it was meant to be, then this card could end up being pretty good.

At the very least it is a great card to Ram Wrangle.

your saying that this card is bad if the opponent have a BGH.

but isn’t most 7 attack or higher with good effects bad then if the opponent have BGH, but people still play big stuff now.. then why not later… even if the opponent have a BGH like always

      just saying…..

That is why these days most minions with 7+ attack that are used have immediate effects that do something before the opponent can respond with BGH. The main exception being Mal’Ganis getting snuck out for free or Handlock giants for low costs. These work without immediate effects because they aren’t such an investment to get lost for only 3 mana. This is also why BGH is getting needed in some way. If it is enough to make slow (as in not having immediate effects as cards like Dr. Boom, Rag, Alex, or Gromm do) worth running, I will be happy, and this card could see some play, which would be cool because it encourages killing minions rather than just smacking face, which Hunter needs more of. I like the design, and I just hope the metagame will be in a state to support cards like this. Partly because I miss my good ol’ Earth Elementals, which now are worse than useless (thanks Overload) due to the BGH Threat.

This seems good at first glance, but realize that it is 8 cost with 8 health. Though the card text may look great, this card is weak to silences, and is easily countered by divine shield, annoyotron, and Mogor the ogre. That 50% chance may make you turn onto the wrong person. You will be lucky if you can kill 4 minions with this before it dies. Maexna is an easy counter, especially if given taunt. Acidworm makes this a waste of mana since it focuses on attack, and even boosts from things like Houndmaster wont do much. Yes it is great at clearing things like murloc decks and mages Mirror Image, or Snake Pit and related, but it fails against single high damage targets or those meant to destroy high health and high attack minions. This would work great if Druid, since you can give multiple large health and attack boosts, or with Warrior, for commanding shout, but right now its only worthwhile combo, since its hunter exclusive, is bestial wrath. Flesh ghoul or Frothing Berserker might work with it, but those can be easily targeted and brought down. This card is actually much worse than it seems, and may get some hype early in old gods expansion, but people will soon learn it is bad. If it was 6 or 7 mana it would be worth it, since you could play a good taunt card to allow it to survive the turn for it to hit, but as of the moment, it is much worse than it looks because, unlike most 8+ mana cards, it is pure offense with no text that helps with defense. Too many common counters at low mana costs and too many high mana counters. This loses to Druids, Mages, Paladins, Warlocks, and other Hunters, as far as I can see. Plus Dragon Decks.

not alot of divine shield minions are played and annoy-o-tron will be good. just dont go around assuming cards will be bad, you will have to see for yourself

Weak to silences? Then I guess you wouldn’t play Ragnaros because of silences, would you? What about Tirion? And yes, we all see lots of Mogor-the-Ogre-and-Maexxna-with-taunt-based decks… Specially in Standard? (GvG and Naxx)

By the way, it might fall to Acidmaw, but remember you can play 2 Giand Sandworms in your deck and your opponent will only run 1 Acidmaw… if you find someone playing it, which is very possible but not very frequent, let’s put it like this…

You also complain about its stats… well, 8 health is not SO miserable… and with 8 attack, very few minions stand normally in a 1 vs 1…

I think complaining so much about this creature is a little bit exaggerated. Come to think of it, if you combine it with one of the 2 cards that give immunity to a beast in a turn, it could clear 7 minions in a single turn and then hit face for 8, which is 64 damage. Yes, this is also exaggerated. But I’m only giving and example that this card has some potential and it’s not so fucking bad as you’re telling.

how is it weak to silences…? they are giving you the 8/8 free will to attack lol..

And if you silence this, it has the same effect. It just drops a vanilla 8/8 on your board. Which is still terrifying if you have no way to deal with it.

But no one is playing mogor or maexxna or acidmaw, because these cards suck…
And you can easily remove a divine shield before attacking with this card. So where is the problem?

Blizzard, please, just a few more control hunter cards. I have been trying out multiple versions of control hunter. None were that good, but this marks the beginning of a new hunter! One that has actual respect…

Great for Arena, probaly too slow for constructed. Yes, could work well with Bestial Wrath and Tundra Rhino, but that’s quite a set up and would be stopped in its tracks by a taunt with Divine Shield….

Um. Clearly you didn’t think that out AT ALL since you could just break the divine shield with the rhino. Not that you should bother running Rhino with this since it’s never gonna work.

Blizzard really wants control hunter to be a thing. Seems op a good enough to make that deck viable. Nice 🙂
