Every time i play this card it lacks life steal even though I have cards with life steal in my set up… Do they have to be in my deck when i play this or does it matter if they’re on the board/in the graveyard?

This card will be seen in a ton of midrange/control decks. You don’t need to have all 4 mechanics. Lifesteal, taunt and divine shield it’s enough to make this one work. 6 possible heal for a 3-3, 4 mana taunt minion can win you the game versus aggresive decks.

With the addition of obsidian statue, this could be a potential priest three drop. Acolyte of agony, eat your heart out before you even existed.

Might be usable in a Wild Shaman Mech deck – though it scuppers the Mech synergy. You’d get Taunt and Divine shield from Annoy-o-Tron and Windfury from the Whirling Zap-o-Matic.

That’s pretty conditional for what effectively amounts to maybe +2 value – and that’s only for the first Corpsetaker (when it’s quite likely you’d still have copies of both the Annoy-o-Tron and Zap-o-Matic in your deck)… for a second? That’s likely to have much less value. Ok – you could chuck in Al’Akir as well but still…

I don’t actually think this is as good as Vicious Fledgling, the gift that keeps on giving.

Since wickerflame is a good card, seems very unlikely that this wouldn’t be. Only problem I see with it is that you can’t save it against control and always get the full effect, unlike wickerflame who you can just play whenever to slow down the board and get a bit of HP back. If you can actually get the windfury this card is great, even if you’re playing against control and can’t get the healing.

Oh my god people stop with that ”it’s perfect for paladin/shaman” , it is NOT.
Best case scenario you get an extra Wickerflame for one more mana.
But since when wickerflame was a good card.? Does he see any play at all.? Even as a free Stonehill Defender option most people would chose a Bog Creeper over Wickerflame.
So why the fuss all of sudden for that shitty card.?

You do understand that half of the time you will draw tirion and wickerflame before one of these 2 corpsetakers right.? Making it a horrible topdeck.

But let’s always take the best case scenario ; you draw this first.
What you get.? let’s see , Iron Fur Grizzly 3 mana 3/3 taunt , sees no play
Silver Moon Guardian 4 mana 3/3 Divine Shield sees no play.
So the first two keywords on a 3/3 minion are useless.
What we are left with.? Lifesteal and windfury…
Lifesteal against an aggro are good yes,but against constol are useless too.But i rather have doomsayers against aggro rather than this.
We are left with windfury that in paladin you cant even activate and in shaman only 1 card fills those condition and if you draw alakir before this concede.

It amazes me that so many people dont use their brains AT ALL.

      Wickerflame see play

    • SadClown33
      July 28, 2017 at 4:07 am

Wickerflame sees play in pretty much every paladin deck. Yea just taunt would make this guy bad, but throw any other affects makes it good enough to probably be included in some deck list. You cant not include a card just because you are afraid of drawing its synergies.
Look at Patches. Yea if you draw it in your opening hand it sucks but people still auto include it in every agro deck because when it does go off correctly its insane. Same goes with this card. I’m sorry but your argument doesn’t mean this card is bad and you can’t say people don’t use their brains if you don’t stop to think about how the card can be used.

You can stop trolling now. We get it, the card doesnt break the game (the game is already broken). But you talk about this card like its unplayable. Think about the modes you can put on it. Try just divine shield and windfury. Thats a great turn 4 beater. Lifelink and windfury. If it sticks, its impossible to race. Taunt and divine shield. Though not a great play, still will outclass shieldmasta in most cases. This is a solid card, there is no denying it.

You retard need to let people enjoy a good card, we understand you might be insecure about getting beat by this over and over.

I think people are overvaluing this card. This card will get its most value in Paladin (Wickerflame gives 3 of these and Tirion gives 2) and possibly Shaman (Al’Akir gives 3), but I’m not convinced it’ll even be worth it there.

There are so few good Windfury cards (at least ones that have it printed on the card; Dr. 3 gets it all the time though) that it’ll almost never have it (except in the possible Shaman example above). That means that its best bet is in Paladin by Hijacking Wickerflames stuff.

Now, one problem is that if you’ve drawn the cards from your deck that trigger these effects, they won’t go off. Late game, this card could be a vanilla 3/3 for 4, which is an awful topdeck. Considering that Wickerflame is a card you probably won’t mill away, it’s going to be common that you won’t hijack him. But you’ll often hijack Tirion, and let’s say the new 3/2 Charge Lifelink is in your deck for some reason, so you DO get those three off. At that point it’s a Wickerflame with +1/+1 for 1 more mana. I already wasn’t sold on Wickerflame. He hardly sees play in Control Paladin as is, which is pretty sad, so I don’t think this thing will fare much better. In its absolutely best case, it’s basically just the above +1/+1 Wickerflame, which even if you like Wickerflame, isn’t a very worthwhile trade. Pass.

Well said. This card is overrated indeed.

      July 27, 2017 at 8:30 pm

Actually I think this would be perfect for shaman. Whirling Zapomatic is a good value windfury card, then you have sludge belcher for taunt (also good value), divine shield is a bit harder but an argent squire (which has great synergy with flametounge) would work, and I’m confident a good neutral/shaman lifesteal minion will be released giving at least 2 copies of all 4 keywords. And this thing has good value with just 2/4 keywords anyway, more juat make it stronger.

Just run madam goya in case you draw those unwanted cards before this! sink it back into your deck and you’re golden! Although it would be rather time consuming and tedious waiting to make a card work for what i would consider a niche card to begin with! But ultimately, you shouldn’t have to make cards work! The best cards synergize with very little effort. As far as Value or overvaluating, I’m not so sure that ppl are overvaluing a card that most definitely will gain 1 effect, very likely 2, possibly 3 and in certain circumstances hail mary a fourth. I think that’s pretty good value for a 3/3 for 4 mana!

    July 27, 2017 at 2:32 pm

trash card , cant see why most people gave high score.Even if it activates all keywords it is easy to remove + you have to put some really shity minions in deck x2 to be able to activate it.there are no good taunts , windfury , divine shield neutral cards.lifesteal so far so bad

    • DatMageDoe
      July 27, 2017 at 3:08 pm

However, it is very strong in Paladin because their auto include Legendaries each tick at least one box:
      Tarim: Taunt
      Tirion: Taunt, Divine Shield
      Wickerflame: Taunt, Divine Shield, Lifesteal
The only one missing is Windfury.

Provided you haven’t drawn Wickerflame before playing this card, it will be a slightly larger Wickerflame, allowing you to run the equivalent of 2 Wickerflames (or more) in the same deck. Hell, if you’re running some Lifesteal cards too, you might be able to get away with drawing Wickerflame and still make this card a mega Wicker.

To most classes, yes, this card probably will be quite weak. But in Pally, the potential power this card might have is insane. The only question is, is the best case scenario good enough, and frequent enough, to justify running a severely understatted card?

      • Imaloony
        July 27, 2017 at 4:28 pm

Another interesting option is to run it in Shaman with Al’Akir to give it Taunt, Divine Shield, Windfury.

But I have a lot of reservations about this card. The potential To draw some of the cards that fuel it, thus weakening it is high, and late game it’ll be an awful topdeck, potentially just being a vanilla 3/3 for 4. Even in the best case where Divine Shield Pally becomes a thing, I’m not convinced this makes the cut. And if Divine Pally doesn’t become a thing, this thing DEFINITELY doesn’t see play in a world where Wickerflame isn’t in Control Pally (except when hit by Stonehill Defender). Maybe Pally might want some more 4 drops, but I don’t think this is the guy.

      • choco
        July 27, 2017 at 9:48 pm

even in paladin its not auto include, wickerflame sees no play and it has proven to be mediocre.did any of you pick wickerflame x2 put of a stonehill defender ? me neither……so why the fuss over a more inconsistent wickerflame.?
if you have tirion and wickerflame in your deck its like having a second wickerflame or if you draw them first a vanilla 4 mana 3/3

        • Wywern
          July 28, 2017 at 2:00 am

I actually often pick another wickerflame off of stonehill against any even moderately fast deck because it’s a great card. It stops a lot of face damage and heals you for cheap. And the lategame isn’t a problem since if you can’t win with 2x primordial, ragnaros the lightlord, tirion, a bunch of deathrattles and N’Zoth, you’re doing something seriously wrong.

            July 31, 2017 at 4:22 am

In a heavy control paladin, wickerflame can solo any aggro deck. Especially with a discovered redemption. Done that countless times.

I think this card is the worse version of Al’Akir since it doesnt have charge and it dies to ping+frostbolt or shadow word pain but it might still see some play with a crazy synergy deck. We’ll see when all the cards revealed

    • Daniel
      July 27, 2017 at 11:29 am

      A worse version of al’akir?
      Al’akir:
      8 mana for a 3/5
Doesn’t have lifesteal and also dies to Shadow word: Pain and ping-fireball.

      Corpsetaker:
4 mana cheaper and you only lose 2hp (lul)
And you get lifesteal instead of charge, which i would argue is just as good, and you can have 2 of them in your deck.

And this card has an average of like 4,7 stars and al’akir is like 2,1. More like al’akir on steroids.

      • Moltar
        July 27, 2017 at 11:37 am

Alakir is consistent tho, he will always have taunt, shield and stuff.

Drawing this card late game can give you a vanilla 3/3.

Might see play in heavy minion based decks tho, but it wont always be a cheaper alakir, since you dont always have 30 cards in yer deck.

        • Anton Wilzewski
          July 27, 2017 at 11:38 am

You are very bad at evaluating cards if you do not see how powerful this card is

          • Moltar
            July 27, 2017 at 11:49 am

I just say that people view this card like it will have taunt, lifesteal, and stuff consistently, and not taking into account that you have to build your deck around that for that result.

If your deck has a one or two minions with taunt, and you already played them or you have them in your hand, this card won’t have taunt. The same for the rest keywords.

This card is good, but is not a mini al’akir.

          • DatMageDoe
            July 27, 2017 at 3:13 pm

You must be very bad at evaluating cards if you cannot look past the circlejerk.

The biggest problem to this card is consistency. Whereas cards such as Wickerflame Burnbristle ALWAYS have Divine Shield, Taunt, and Lifesteal, this card MIGHT have it, depending on your deck and what cards you’ve drawn. Sometimes, it might be the full package of a 3/3 with Taunt, Divine Shield, Lifesteal, and Windfury. Othertimes, it could be just a vanilla 3/3. Seeing how often it is the former and how rarely the latter happens is crucial as to if this card will see any play.

I really hope this means the other abilities can’t be on one singular card, but rather refers to a different card each time. In wild this card will be broken with how easy you can fill out the abilities, consistently.

Absoultely insane card, best card in the set yet.

The fact that it just requires the cards to be in your deck and not in hand is huge. This is going to be a big card in Aggro decks.

You are overtly negative about this card and I don’t really know why chance to draw al’akir is small since its a 1 off and you’re never keeping it in your mulligan and it’s not like there’s other cards that are ruined by draws that are overpowered (patches works literally the same way as you just described)
